As a team of architects, we are in a very fortunate position to work within an integrated group of talented and committed professionals all aligned to design and deliver the best results for our customers.

The parent company of L7 Architects is Carpenter Investments. Formed in 2010, by our joint Managing Directors Alan Beer and Dave Brewitt, it is both a property investor and landlord. We work closely with our developer management team (Carpenter Investments), designing all their work which is then constructed by our in-house contractor (Carpenter Build) and managed by our in-house agents (Urban Sleep). We employ our own maintenance staff and gardeners.

Our supportive, family friendly studio fosters close interaction, provides a mutually supportive environment and encourages collaboration.

All our architects are team players and have an understanding of cost and technical aspects as well as the importance of good, robust and sustainable design.

As the Carpenter group retains ownership of our completed buildings, we are able to take a long-term view to ensure delightful, practical and durable results for our users.

Our Focus

We have an excellent track record of delivering successful projects involving the design of residential accommodation, whether for private rental or for student residences. We specialise in brown field sites requiring regeneration and redevelopment. We work in both Town/City centres as well as edge of centre locations. We often combine mixed use schemes facilitating retail and commercial uses alongside the accommodation.

We have designed over 000,ft2 of residential accommodation including x student beds and y PRS beds. The retail/commercial supporting accommodation equates to over 50,000 ft.

In addition to the focus on residential accommodation we have also delivered a major new academic building occupied by Liverpool John Moores University-the Education Building. We have also designed a 62-room extension to Hope Street Hotel in Liverpool for its Chief Executive and Carpenter Investments Managing Director Dave Brewitt.

History

L7 Architects was formed in 2013. Its early work included Brunswick Park, Liverpool which is a cluster of 6 residential blocks on a former industrial site built in phases over 3 years. It later developed student apartments in Myrtle Parade and Bedford House Liverpool, followed by other student residences at Hardman House and Copperas House, both in Liverpool. We now have over 1100 bed spaces of student accommodation.

Further sites were purchased in Stockport and Warrington to develop private rental apartments. We have delivered 2 of the 3 proposed buildings at Station Road, Warrington and a final block will be completed later in 2022. There are 63 spacious apartments in each block, with the majority of them being Duplex. Each duplex occupies a floor and a half and has south facing views over the Manchester Ship Canal. The development proved so successful that we added a further storey of apartments on the third phase during construction.

We have planning consent for 3 buildings proposed on our Stockport site. Construction has commenced with completion scheduled for 2 years time.
